Its amazing that its been so long. I dont know what to do, I don't know if I should scrap this blog altogether, and start fresh, or keep it going...it seems so out of date. The dated me... dunno I have to think about that for a while...

update: I have been in Africa for a for a few months and love it here - its amazing after Im finished here I hopefully will be in Asia somewhere, but if ive learned anything, its that I don't have the final say in things.

I will say that its been intresting living overseas, seeing xenophobia from the other side...the US Presidential race...actually watching how the dollar preforms on the global market...yeah...its been intresting ...hopefully I can upload some pictures at somepoint.

By the way...I like people for the most random reasons...

Hiatus? Dave Chapelle 'esque' disappearance? Dunno. What can I say. It's official I'z married now. Being a newly wed and the new owner of an eighty year old house dosent leave much time for much of anything. But I'm back on my grizzy (more of a H Rap hustle than a Hova, hustle). Due to what some people would call a disorder I always have a project or fifty that I am working on at any given moment, but its all love and for the first time in a long time I feel alive again. Belive me, it beats just livin' any day. I will be in and out checking up on my net homies, and posting stupid stuff when the mood hits me. Until then gimme a moment to catch up on your sites...

As you can imagine things have been intresting to say the least. Working, planning, living...but life goes on and blogg or die right?

Today I learned that one of my favorite rap groups of all time have gotten back togther and are currently on tour. I kind of would like to catch a show but I don't think that I can fit it in.

Projects abound as usual but it's good...makes me feel like I'm living and not just alive.

Speaking of living...I have really been thinking about getting one of these . Go across country or something...well I can day dream can't I? I think it would be fun to get an old one and restore it...another day dream I guess.

Back to reality the Vegas odds makers have D12troit +325 under dogs...are these people serious? They daym near swept the LaFakers last year and they were a better team than SanAssTonio. Oh well, more money in my account at my favorite online sports book.

The comedian’s whereabouts and condition have been unknown since Comedy Central abruptly announced last week that the planned May 31 launch of the third season of “Chappelle’s Show” had been postponed and production halted.

Chappelle flew from Newark, N.J., to South Africa on April 28 for treatment, said the magazine, quoting a source close to the show it would not identify. Entertainment Weekly said it had corroborating sources for its story.

“We don’t know where he is,” Comedy Central spokesman Tony Fox said. “We’ve heard about South Africa. We don’t know. We haven’t talked to Dave.”

Chappelle’s spokesman, Matt Labov, would not comment on the magazine’s story.

“It seems like the issues he’s contending with are really quite serious,” said Dade Hayes, a senior editor at Entertainment Weekly. “It isn’t a case of him spending a weekend someplace recuperating from exhaustion.”

The magazine’s sources say Chappelle is still in the facility, which was not named, Hayes said. Chappelle’s representatives have denied that the comedian was abusing drugs.

Chappelle reportedly signed a $50 million deal with Comedy Central for two more seasons of his show, a payday made possible because of the explosive sales of the show’s first season DVD.

The magazine said Chappelle had shot four to five episodes’ worth of sketches for the new season, but none of its onstage introductions.

Just a quick post- All is well the trip was really cool- Parent's are probaly the funniest beings on the planet. The left coast was beautiful as usual...the hotel was nice, and I did alot for a 24 hour trip- the golden gate - Pac Bell...even got a little underground hip hop show in. Came back proposed the next day, it almost went flawless but hey 3/4 months of planning you have to expect some bumps. Ill post some pictures as soon as possible.

Ladies and gentlemen...I have a history with women. I like to blame it on ADD, because it makes me feel removed from it in a sence. My problem is I have a short attention span. As a child I would run into the room where the TV was just to watch the commercial and run out. 30 seconds was my max. This short attention span has plagued me in every aspect of my life. I have had every hair cut from a shag to a high right to twist. I have been interested in everything from publishing, to mobile carwash systems, to real estate, to culinary school all for at least twenty min. Having a short attention span also has effected my romantic life as well. ...i'm going to end this post now...I need some couch time.

Spike Lee is still working with Nikee. I have had this on going theory that great men of the past would do commercials...hell why not everyone else is. Bob Marley would be selling Crest. Maybe instead of sermon on the mount, the son of man would have an info-mercial, Martin Luther King Jr. speeches would be sponsored by Kool his cigarette of choice. A man called JON CARAMANICA (not his real name) wrote in the New York Times last weekend about how even NIKE and Spike Lee (aka MULES INC and Mars Blackmon, Senior Stable Boy) are putting Jordan out to pasture.

The story is awesome especuially for capturing the gradual psychological horrors of a once great man coming to grips with his mortality but not coming to grips with it, about a candle that burned out before the legend ever did, about a man who is aoutlived by his boots, and the pain of other analogies! The Death of a Salesman!

It should be called THE OLD MAN WHO LIVED IN A SHOE!!!

Listening to the radio last week I heard a musician joking that his theory is that the Apocalypse has already happened, and the people left didn't make the cut. Its not a thought that hasn’t been touched on many times before, in science fiction writing and I believe loosely by the Martrix. The Pope is dead, and there might be a black one...we will know when the black smoke rises from the Vatican City. A black Pope? Not being Catholic I really don’t grokk the whole Pope thing, but I can recognize the effect that the people has on millions of people around the world, what if they Pope looked like me? Not as handsome, but at lease with melanin. I'm at a weird place in my life right now. I went to get a shirt made for my future proposal to the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with, and as I was getting measured I for the first time in my life realized something. The thought creped into my mind that I probably will not own a Aston Martin. I probably will not be able to pay cash for my dream home. Realistically, if I am a good steward of my money I will be able to raise my children comfortably, send them to college and retire at a decent age. Reality. What an interesting concept.

Idle chatter- I ordered a Holga a few weeks ago and just got it today. I can't wait to run the first roll thur it...I'll post any interesting ones.

I have been so out of the loop lately- I fell totally off my square so much lately I had to order some music off the net to see if I could get my piece of mind back. I was in the book store yesterday and noticed that the latest installment in the game I refer to as, “The single best game I have ever played in my life”, is coming out next week.

I would pick it up but it would be silly because I don’t nave blocks of time in my life that I would refer to as ‘free’. I miss video games – and music so bad. I grew up playing video games like most of the people in my age group. I had a Atari – Super Nintendo- and played for hours upon hours but wouldn’t consider myself a hardcore gamer. I almost became a hardcore gamer. The only woman that has ever broken up with me gave me a Dreamcast as what I recognize now as a parting gift. The signs were so there that she wasn’t happy with the relationship, I can see it after the fact, but while in the fray I didn’t want to acknowledge it. We were friends who became more that should have stayed friends. That’s another post – I digress. So… on the tail end of a failed relationship, all I have is this Dreamcast and “Hatian Fight Song”, a few Showbiz and A.G. songs on a mix tape from my boy, and cheap beer. Looking back it was not a pleasant experience at all- I have put myself in so many bad positions in life and this period was specifically…no good. So, all I have is 2 tapes and a Dreamcast, did anyone see the movie the Jerk? I fell in love again with video games. Before this I used to video game players as dorks…we have all seen them of all ages from 5 to 55 standing in Electronics Boutique discussing the merits of Hideo Kojima game design. But I was hooked…it was all I had, so I thought at the time. For hours I would paly…

…getting games from the UK, the whole nine. (if anyone knows the origin of the expression the whone nine please let me know) Then after that it was my Playstation2 I had my then girl friend, I’ll call her Sybil, pick it up the morning it came out. I traveled with it, took like other people take laptops on plane…I had my PS2. Next it was the Xbox, that I didn’t have to run out and get because I loved the PS2 so much. Nonetheless, the next girlfriend got me the Xbox as a birthday present. Then I discovered the beauty of Xbox, and Xbox modification…I know I’m a geek. Now that I’m an adult, I wish I had embraced this side of my personality much earlier in life. I could have saved so much time and money on gold teeth, malt liquor, rayon shirts and such.

everything is kind of hazy... work- work - planning - work - everyting is starting to run together. I am a very detailed oriented person. I am the type of person that looks at the water mark on a resume to see if it is right side up. I notice wear on the heels of peoples shoes, I know the licence plate numbers of most of my co-workers. It's not a disorder it is what it is. Needless to say the next few months will be intresting, I can't wait to get it over with. I feel like Im in a dream sequence in a Baz Luhrmann movie. Question: People are always telling me I look like someone. Lately its been someone from the Young and Restless...I'm not sure who, they must have gotten a new yard man on the show. I've heard Larwence Fishburn, I used to hear Tevin Campbell often...the funny part is none of these people look alike. Who do people tell you you look like if anyone. Today I will be getting mesured for my first (hopefully of many) custom made suit. I do have an easy body to shop for so it will be intresting to see what exactly is my correct size.

 Interpersonal relations

 volence, affection, and friendliness with everyone.

 Democratic values and attitudes
 The SA person is able to learn from anyone, is humble and friendly with anyone
 regardless of class, education, political belief, race or color.

 Discrimination: means and ends, Good and Evil
 The SA does not confuse between means and ends and does no wrong. He enjoys
 the here and now, getting to goal--not just the result. He makes the most tedious
 task an enjoyable game and has his own inner moral standards (appearing

People over fifty with peirced ears and jerseys on... last night at my second gig, someone left a small mess out. Inseatd of asking someone to picke it up the newly appointed manager wrote on a napkin someting like "dont stand there looking at me pick up the trash" with an arrow pointing to the mess. Please stop this epidemic before it gets out of hand. Feel free to report any observations of people doing a little dos muchos.

Yesterday I was going to do a post about Piggy Bank- the not so new offer by Curtis J. But I can’t really give that any more energy.

O-Dub asked on his blog something like what do you consider cheating. Is it only cheating if physical contact is made? For me crossing the line of disrespect is cheating. Cheating is interesting. Correction. Correction cheating isn’t interesting peoples reaction to it is. In my family not unlike many it’s almost expected that men will cheat. End of story. I have a friend that recently found out that her longtime boyfriend had cheated on her again and her response to me was “As long as he takes care of me, I don’t care what he does” I felt sad, that an attractive, educated person would have a position like that but hey, (enter cliché of the moment here). It’s almost like we are sent the wrong messages from early in childhood.

Is there a stigma associated with single women over the age of thirty? I work with two women over thirty and single. Before I started working here I never really paid attention to single women. If so, I bought whatever story they were selling about, how they were happy, and focusing on a career yadda, yadda, yadda. Mostly because I didn’t care, partly because I used to accept everything people said at face value, kind of a benefit of a doubt stance. But here, one of the single women is very…transparent. She’s close to if not yet 40, physically attractive, successful, attractive and frankly…a train wreck. I have a nick name for most of the people that I work with. Her nick name is ‘tourette’. Here is a sample conversation. T: “what are you drinking?” AA: “Protein shake” T: “Why? Are you trying to say that I’m fat? (note: she’s not in my opinion at all fat shes probably a size 8) What are you anorexic?” …I used to take offence, but now I see her differently. The other is 31 has a banging BB (before baby) body I mean BANGIN’, very smart, loves the Lord so much she visits him 3 days a week at church. She still lives at home and once during a lunch at a local restaurant laughed out loud at the victims of the California mudslides and said “That’s what they get…they should have moved”. Why is it so hard for people to find a compatible mate for those who realize that is what they want out of life? I really believe that there is someone out there for everybody How do they find each other? Personally I think the start is having knowledge of self and speaking the truth. I think people should stop saying they don’t want to be married…99% of the time, I think it’s a lie. We designed to be with another person...at least thats what the good book says...

Canadian health officials are hoping that heroin addicts, freed from their daily pursuit of the next fix by a prescription-heroin plan, will find time to make positive changes in their lives.

The Toronto Globe and Mail reported Jan. 31 that researcher will begin gathering applications for the program from addicts during the next few weeks. The experiment already is the talk of the streets in communities like Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.

"They should have done this a long time ago," said Debbie Woelke, a heroin user living in a single-room occupancy hotel in the city's poorest neighborhood. "Sometimes you need something just to relax and get your mind together, instead of always being in a state of panic. That's what's killing everyone down here. They have to do things they wouldn't normally do."

The prescription heroin trial will take place in Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal. Researchers are looking to recruit 428 hard-core addicts, half of whom will receive daily doses of heroin for a year, and half of whom will get methadone.

"What if you could say to an addict, 'For the next little while, you're not going to have to get your drugs from Al Capone. You can get your drugs from Marcus Welby,' " said Dr. Martin Schechter, lead researcher on the project. "You don't have to worry about this afternoon and this evening. And therefore, you don't have to go and break in to cars or be a prostitute. You could actually come and talk to a counselor or ... get some skills training."

The experiment is unique in North America, although similar trials have been tried with some success in Europe. However, critics range from those concerned about lack of abstinence as a goal to those who say it is unfair to give addicts free heroin for a year and then cut them off. Overdoses also are a major ethical worry.

A spokesperson for U.S. drug czar John Walters called the trial an "inhumane medical experiment.

"What you're doing is making it easier to be a heroin addict," said policy analyst David Murray. "These people won't get that much better in the long run. They will still be heroin addicts."

But Vancouver Mayor Larry Campbell, a former coroner and narcotics officer, said current treatments don't work for hard-core addicts. "The critical thing is to accept this as a medical condition," he said. "The side effects of this medical condition is that it forces you to ... do things that you would never do, be it work as a sex-trade worker, be a B and E [break-and-enter] artist or a purse snatcher. So if I can mitigate that by putting you on heroin, imagine the changes you could
have."

Since I have been pulling 16 hour days seven days a week, things have changed. I look at life a little different. Last night I heard excerpts of the (p)residents state of the union address. To be totally candid I agreed with a lot of what I heard, I need to listen to the full address sometime today or read the transcript if I get a chance. I was immediately struck by what I call the rat poison syndrome. It’s a syndrome that I feel a lot of (l)eaders fall into. Rat poison is 90% corn (good for you) 10% arsenic…that 10% will kill you. The older I get the more conservative I get, but the (p)resident has an anti-Christ quality that I find disturbing. Everyday the world seems to turn into a Ray Bradbury novel, with Orwellian overtones. The world seems to be drinking the Kool-Aid of their choice. I’m not really going to get into this…

I do want to make an announcement. (ahem) Look people, let me help you from looking bad while eating out. If you don’t want to tip your server…go to Burger Kill, or McGenocide. If you go to a ½ way decent restaurant where the average entrée price is $30 follow the following rules.

Do not run the server ragged and then tip 10%. That is so tacky. Servers get paid $2 an hour and work off of tips, they have to pay a tip out to the bar, and back waiters, and that percentage is taken from their net sales. If you have a gift certificate don’t tip off of the reduced amount, again the server is paying on net sales. The bare minimum tip is 15% if you received poor service.

Don’t order a $40 dollar steak and ask for A1 sauce. Only do that at the Waffle House at 3am.

Don’t seat your self. You can do that at home. I’ve seen a couple asked to sit in a booth on a busy night. The more the check is, the more a server makes. 2 people sitting in a six person booth all night long is akin to someone messing with your paycheck.

If it’s busy don’t camp out. Be considerate.

Tarter sauce doesn’t go on everything.

Be nice to your server, they have access to your food before you do.

If you order a lobster don’t use the bib.

Don’t take small children. Again…cook or take them to Burger Kill, they have a playground.

Please and thank you work well. Eating out is not an opportunity to redirect personal issues on a complete stranger.

I wake up early- between 4:30 and 5am. I have to get out of the house before 6am and I need time to do a quick workout, make my morning juice of carrots, beets, and spinach usually get my clothes together and make my protein shake (MET-Rx, and rice milk), shower, and roll out. Every morning I listen to something, most of the time it’s a local community radio station. Most mornings it’s a different show, personal finance, casual conversation, return of the boom bap…ect. This morning it was the revolutionary show for the 2Pac, Bob Marly sect of revolutionaries. They were talking about being a soldier and being ready to die for ‘the cause’, a caller called in a was taking about peace and he was mocked on the air. I have a fairly long history with revolutionaries. It started in or around the 8^th grade when I discovered the Black Panther Party. I read everything I could get my hands on from Soul on Ice to going to the large downtown library and read copied of the Panther news paper on microfiche. After doing all the research I could possibly do with my 8^th grade education I decided to find out where the Panthers were now. A few had been killed by the police, some had been murdered under mysterious circumstances, and one Bobby…had gone on a evangelical tour with a white, Christian, preacher, later been arrested for passing bad checks, only to come back with a BBQ book. A barbecue book, called Que’n With Bobby. From revolutionary to BBQ book author. COINTELPRO very much taken into consideration. This is the common vein that I have found with 90% of the revolutionaries that I have come in contact with. In the wash all you end up with is pictures of people on T-shirts. Or a community radio personality touting Revolution over FCC controlled airwaves. This is Babylon, only Babylon can topple Babylon. (Footnote: see the history of Rome, or Greece)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A "morning after" treatment for the AIDS virus can help prevent infection after a rape, contact with a contaminated needle or even a night of passion without a condom, U.S. health officials said on Thursday.
Taking drug cocktails for four weeks seems to greatly reduce the risk of becoming infected with the virus, which is transmitted through sex -- heterosexual and homosexual -- drug use and shared needles, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.
These drug cocktails, called highly active antiretroviral therapy or HAART, are routinely taken for life by HIV-infected patients who can afford it and have access. HAART can keep a patient healthy despite infection with the deadly and incurable virus.

The CDC said there was no ethical way to do a random trial comparing post-exposure prevention to a placebo or dummy pill.
But trials on animals and studies of rape victims and of people at high risk of HIV infection because of their behavior have shown that taking a two- or three-drug cocktail after the possible exposure does prevent infection.
"A 28-day course of HAART is recommended for persons who have had nonoccupational exposure to blood, genital secretions, or other potentially infected body fluids of a person known to be HIV infected when that exposure represents a substantial risk for HIV transmission," the CDC said.
The quicker, the better, it said.
In its report, the CDC pointed to a study of needlestick injuries to health-care workers. "In this study, the prompt initiation of zidovudine (AZT) was associated with an 81 percent decrease in the risk for acquiring HIV."
In another trial of 200 gay and bisexual Brazilians at high risk of HIV infection, doctors gave out "starter packs" of AZT and another AIDS drug called lamivudine.
In the group that used the drugs after having unprotected sex, one person became infected, while 11 people in the group that did not take the drugs became infected.
South African rape victims got a similar treatment and none of the women who started the drugs within 48 to 72 hours became infected.
"Although 400,000 new HIV infections occur in the United States each year, relatively few exposed persons seek care after nonoccupational exposure," the CDC said.
"Preferred regimens include efavirenz and lamivudine or emtricitabine with zidovudine or tenofovir and lopinavir/ritonavir (coformulated in one tablet as Kaletra) and zidovudine with either lamivudine or emtricitabine. Different alternative regimens are possible."

MEAN and menacing at just 14, the boy glowers from the old black-and-white photograph - a simmering volcano soon to erupt in the boxing ring.
He was destined to conquer the world with his talented fists as one of the most fearsome heavyweights in history.
This week, 38-year-old Mike Tyson was back at Gleason's Gym, where he used to train as a youngster - but the conquering days are over. This time, there is no fight to prepare for and no prospect of one.

Instead Iron Mike is here to teach kids how to box as part of a community service sentence he was given for his part in a brawl at a Brooklyn hotel. The gym owner persuaded the district attorney that Tyson should put something back into the community instead of going back to jail.
During his visit the former world champion speaks exclusively to the Daily Mirror about what it feels like to be back on his old stamping ground - and pondering his future.
And as he shuffles around the ring, letting nine-year-olds bob and weave, pounding away at the padded mitts he holds up for them, the contrast with the boy in the poster could not be greater.
Quietly, the once-great fighter observes: "You look at old pictures and then you look in the mirror and you don't even know who that person is."
Overweight and on prescription drugs to fight depression and keep him calm, Tyson is still carrying a leg injury from the pounding he took from Britain's Danny Williams, who knocked him out in July.
Contrary to what his adviser Shelley Finkel claims, he is not planning a comeback fight in March. Maybe there will never be one. "I'm just training," says Tyson, who hasn't worked on his bad knee for more than two months. "I don't know if I still want to box. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. I feel I don't more than I want to. I'm just tired."
He did not bother to watch Vitali Klitschko's destruction of Danny Williams in Las Vegas 11 days ago.
"I don't watch fights that much no more," he whispers. "I don't like it like I used to."
But that doesn't stop him having a view on the fight. "Danny doesn't punch hard enough to hurt that guy," he says.
Yes, but he punched hard enough to hurt you, didn't he?
"I hurt my knee in that fight," he explains - which is true, because he needed surgery afterwards and is still six weeks of rehab away from being fully fit again.
THE last time I'd met Tyson was more than a year ago, after Frank Bruno was taken to hospital to help him deal with his own demons.
Tyson says he cried for his old foe at the time and is glad when I tell him Frank is on the mend.
"That makes me happy," he says. "The worst thing that can happen to you is for you to lose your mental powers, especially when you've got a wife and kids."
And he should know. Muttering something about a boxer's biggest fight coming after he leaves the ring, Tyson then comes over all philosophical.
"Dying can't be as bad as living," he muses. "There's no way that dying can be as bad as living. But while you're living you have to live.
"I don't know what I'm doing. I just live, I guess, get some food. But I don't cook. I go to restaurants every night." Asked how he fills his days, he replies: "I don't do anything. My life sucks."
Cash-strapped after blowing a £200million fortune, he has sold all his mansions, got rid of the pet tigers and flogged the luxury cars to move into a £60,000 two-bedroom house in Phoenix, Arizona.
He even has to put his own rubbish out now. But he denies that he has left the back streets of Brooklyn, where he grew up, for good.
"I live wherever I can," he says, before pondering whether it has all been worth it.
"I've reached a point in my life when I think: 'Damn, what is all this s*** for?' You forget about all the fighting and all the training.
"But I guess I'm fortunate enough, right? Never have to wait in line for anything, never have to worry about getting a nice girlfriend, a good-looking girlfriend. I don't know, it has its advantages."
Right now Tyson is more hungry for women than another title shot after splitting up with his girlfriend of two years.
"I'm trying to get some p***y, to get laid. I'm trying to get laid," he says, laughing. He has turned up at Gleason's with his ex-wife Monica and their seven-year-old son Amir. "There's no reconciliation," Monica is quick to point out. "We're just good friends."
Although little Amir is the first to pound away at Daddy's yellow padded mitts, Tyson has no desire for his son to follow him into the ring.
"I wouldn't recommend it to my son - I don't think he's got it in him," he says. "The one thing all the champions ever in the world have in common is poverty. It's all they have. You have to fight your way out of poverty."
HE mumbles instructions to nine-year-old Sherif Younan, telling him to move his head in the ring if he doesn't want to get hurt.
Sherif says later: "He told me: 'If you don't do your left hook after your right you're gonna get caught. You have to do a combination.' If I learned one thing from him it was never stay in one place - always move around."
The youngster - already an amateur champion - adds: "I move all the time so I won't get hit by a big guy like this. I've seen a lot of Tyson's fights on TV. He doesn't pitter-patter, he punches hard."
Little Sueshona Norville, also nine, says: "It was fun. I don't think I hurt him."
So what is Tyson's message to youngsters who want to follow in his footsteps?
"I tell them they need to dedicate themselves, make sacrifices and come every day," he says. "To miss as less days as possible and stay off the absentee list."
As he walks around the gym, he is all grins as he is mobbed by fans wanting his autograph or a picture with him.
"It takes me back to the days when I was training here," he says. "It's always exciting to have a crowded gym, there's a lot of personalities here. But it's weird, too. People I've known for 20 years are new to me. In 20 years things change drastically. People know my name, but I don't know who the hell they are. I think I know them and I don't know them.
"Being here now, a lot of people come up to you and talk to you, but you don't know who the hell they are. It's weird."
Bruce Silverglade, who has owned Gleason's for 26 years and is an old friend of the fighter, says: "Tyson is content in this type of environment. This is where he's familiar, because he trained here as a youngster and an adult.
"The people that train here want to emulate what he did best and it's an atmosphere that he likes best. He likes working with kids and people who can appreciate him as a great boxer.
"No one here's going to say: 'Oh, look - there's Mike Tyson, the rapist who got into trouble again the other day.'"
Tyson was jailed for six years in 1992 after raping 18-year-old Desiree Washington, a Miss Black America contestant, in a hotel in Indianapolis. He served half his sentence.
Bruce says: "He's got to be careful what he does. He recently got into trouble for jumping on to the hood of someone's car. There could have been some nut or crack addict behind the wheel who might have shot him or something."
As for his future in the ring, Bruce, 58, says: "Mike Tyson will never be a productive fighting force again. But he might get fights to make money because of his name."
Certainly, his family and those who care for him do not want him to be pushed back into action by the money men.
"I think he's just tired of everything and he wants to live a normal life now," says his sister, Jackie Rowe.
And to know that the only blows he will take in the ring from now on are the powder-puff punches of a nine-year-old girl who doesn't want to hurt her once-mighty hero.

Ken Burns has a new documentary on Jack Johnson…first of all I don’t know what I like best about his documentary’s the photography or the people that he uses to do the voiceovers. In the Jack Johnson documentary he uses Samuel Jackson, and Keith David (Dead Presidents)…they have amazing vocal presence. Life is so brief. I really want to live my life to its fullest. I want to see new things touch new people, walk the earth and actually live. Most people I know don’t really live life, not even the life they know. They exist. I don’t want to exist. I want to live. Sorry, tirade over.

So, ahhh yeah I stared my new gig last night. It’s waiting tables at a local restaurant in a good part of town. The clientele is great people order $100 bottles of wine like they are picking up a pack of double mint at the local quickie mart. I waited on a local DJ last night, which seemed weird. I don’t listen to his station often because I don’t really like the music and I don’t particularly like his on air personality. But in person he seemed to be a pretty ok dude and into his wife which is really nice to see. Anyway, I really need the gig, as some of you know I am going to be getting married this summer and I need the extra scratch. Planning everything from the engagement to flying out to ask her curmudgeon of a dad for her hand, to the photographer and everything in between can be a bit overwhelming at times but actually its kind of fun. Being the slacker that I was , I also need to tie up some loose ends financially and consolidate my defecation in general. I’m really excited about the opportunity to put away some extra cash and the people I will be working with will make it interesting…one extra pale fellow was rapping the words “Bishop projects, like a throw back” from the Juvie song all night. If nothing people are entertaining. Hopefully I’ll make a real post later on today.

Urban media observation- I listen to 5 to 6 radio stations in the morning. The local independent station from the time I get up, NPR for a hour or so then I skip between 2 “urban” format stations, the alternative rock station and Air America. The ‘urban’ stations: one did a parody of the Usher, Luda, and Lil John remake of lover and friends called ugly friend. I know it was a parody because right before the song an announcer declared, “This is another ____ ______ parody! (ECHO, echo…), after that there was a story on DeAngelo’ s latest DUI, and drug possession charge. I couldn’t tell what the other station was doing besides talking loud and laughing at their own jokes. I feel I understand the entertainment factor needed in drive time radio, but the audience is diverse and should be presented with a wider range of relevant issues. I also understand that every station has a number of songs that they have to play every hour, but may times if you change stations they are playing the same song. I know I should just unplug from the matrix for the few hours that I am in the car each day and just shut up, but it would be nice to have some variety when I do turn on the radio.

I was watching a basketball game last night and everyone including the players had on throwback jerseys. I'll all for retro...Ive had a rotary phone in my house for the past 9 years...I even have a telephone table...you gott be old like me to remember those. An Internet site set up by an Italian schoolboy, and previously dedicated to "The Simpsons," is helping people track down loved ones missing since the Indian Ocean tsunami disaster.

Valerio Natale, a 14-year-old high school student, says two missing Italian holidaymakers--Dario Collodi and Liliana Giordanino--have already been found thanks to postings on his Web page, http://www.tuttosimpsons.altervista.org.

"I was paging through the newspaper and saw lots of ads from people looking for relatives," Natale said. "I asked myself, Why not make a free site that can help everybody? So I made a free site, which used to be dedicated to the famous American cartoon family, the Simpsons."

The site is devoted almost entirely to Italian citizens who disappeared in Thailand, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and India when the tsunami hit on Sunday, killing tens of thousands.

It lists the names and ages of those missing, email addresses and phone numbers of worried friends and relatives, a link for photos of the missing, plus useful phone numbers such as Italian consulates, and hotels in Thailand.

The site has had 82,000 hits in two days, Natale said.

I really should have been a socialist. Society has intrigued me for years, all this time I just thought I was nosey. My most recent foray into popular culture and why certain things exist at all is studying commerce and how corporations attempt to get our hard earn scratch. The retail giants of New York pride themselves on their windows. Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Sacks and Macy’s holiday windows show everything from Vaudeville scenes to scenes from literature to blatant cross marketing/product placement with current movies of the season. I understand the role of marketing in a capitalist society, I just don’t like to be “marketed down to” (last image, work from Bansky).

Wangari Maathai founded the Green Belt movement in Kenya in 1977, which has planted more than 10 million trees to prevent soil erosion and provide firewood for cooking fires. A 1989 United Nations report noted that only 9 trees were being replanted in Africa for every 100 that were cut down, causing serious problems with deforestation: soil runoff, water pollution, difficulty finding firewood, lack of animal nutrition, etc. The program has been carried out primarily by women in the villages of Kenya, who through protecting their environment and through the paid employment for planting the trees are able to better care for their children and their children's future.

Kanye West. For many reasons I liked College Dropout. 1.Anyone that gets a song called Jesus walks one the Billboard charts should be labeled a visionary. 2. I’ve heard reporters call him arrogant…mostly I’ve heard him say everyone thinks he’s arrogant. That’s an opinion, I can see where it comes from and I also see the need for humility. But a man that wrote Jesus Walks is not a megalomaniac. A man that gives himself a nick name on the other hand needs attention, a man that nick names him self, J-Hova…might be a little arrogant. I digress. Hip hop is about self expression…making something out of nothing…working with what you have. The human beat box. Turning a 3-4 second break on your dads James Brown or your moms Chic record into a 15 min song to let your friend rap over it. Turning vandalism into an art form. In a commercial landscape that only talks about 3 subjects its refreshing to see an artist change the approach. I like his attention to detail. From being his own stylist, and taking it back to 8^th grad with the prep or die look, to having Aisha Tyler in a video, to the Prodigy rip off “All Falls Down” video the was pulled off lovely buy director Chris Milk. Lick one shot for Stacey Dash and that dress…and the breez that day.

If I ever said some asinine shit like, 'Yo, I'm gonna get nominated for the most awards ever,' people would just say I'm arrogant? But I'm not," he says. "So many people I work with just don't believe." He stops tapping on the console, looks up and focuses. "I don't see what's wrong with saying, I'm going to sell three million records. Not even saying 'I want to' but 'I am going to', in order to give myself that confidence. But people turn around and say I'm arrogant."

He pauses, cocks his head and resumes, gradually working himself into a frenzy.

"They're doubting. They're saying, first of all, you can't do it. And secondly, your method – to build your esteem up so that you have something to believe in and set your goals – is wrong too.

So they bashing you on both ends. You can't believe that there is something greater for you out there. [He puts on whiney voice] 'Oh, he's so arrogant! He has dreams. Why should he dream? And if he does dream, don't let him say it loud!'"

MF Doom- no surprise here. Went from ashy to classy…from getting dropped from his label to being the H.N.I.C. of the underground world. His original 12” go for over $500 on ebay. His first disk…a CD sells is cant be found and if you do its over $100. $100 for a CD….how many of the CD’s in your collection are worth over $100?

NEW YORK -- A document released for the first time today by the American Civil Liberties Union suggests that President Bush issued an Executive Order authorizing the use of inhumane interrogation methods against detainees in Iraq. Also released by the ACLU today are a slew of other records including a December 2003 FBI e-mail that characterizes methods used by the Defense Department as "torture" and a June 2004 "Urgent Report" to the Director of the FBI that raises concerns that abuse of detainees is being covered up.

one of my major complaints is that its hard to find someone to put me on to something diffrent. Most of the people I run into talk about the samethings. So I plead to you, my internet homefries. Put me on to something... you favorite internet sites....a hobbie that you love...something that you have seen or done recently that is out of the mainstream. I thank you in advance. :)

I heard this story on the radio yesterday on the way home. PETA was protesting a slaughterhouse for being cruel. I’ve never been to a slaughterhouse but just by definition I cant imagine a slaughterhouse not being cruel. I listened as farmers in Iowa explained that if it was up to PETA they would all be out of business… which I believe, isn’t true but that’s another story. I have never considered becoming a member of PETA because I don’t fully share their beliefs, or agree with some of their member’s tactics, but they do serve a purpose. Kind of like the IRS, or ACLU. I don’t believe that everyone in the world should be a vegetarian but I do believe that everyone should know where their food comes from and demand that the food they are given is not given excessive drugs, blah, blah… I do think there is a direct link to what you put into your body to the quality of your life. Period. I went to the site to see this video. I couldn’t get past the first 3 sceonds.
